A bit overcast and cool
Dear Little Aloysius
Happy birthday!
Tomorrow will be your 3rd Anniversary since you come to this
world. Over the past three years, you
have been the centre of our family and you, our beloved one, have brought us happiness,
warmth, unity and harmony. We all love you, our sweetie. Tomorrow is your special day and also our
special day to celebrate!
As a three year old boy (now I am not calling you baby though you
are forever our baby), you enter into your second stage of life, i.e. start
studying and going to school. I
remember you mommy and daddy have been so anxious this year and hoped to find a
good kindergarten for you. Why? It is because they wish to find a good school
so that you can study in a happy environment and could have an enjoyable school
life that promotes you to love reading and studying. I think they made it! You are a very lucky boy because you have
such a wonderful mommy and daddy!
Once you enter the school, sooner you might notice there are many
competitions around you and I can imagine that might also bother you a little
bit (I would be most gratify if I am wrong). Don’t worry, baby, we all know that. Your mommy and daddy know that, E-ma and E-cheung
know that, everyone older than you know that because we all walked through that
same experience and that’s part of life.
Baby, make sure that shouldn’t bother you and you just need to regard
study as your lovely hobby and there should be no pressure.
Although you are just three years old (tomorrow) and you may not
understand why E-ma tells you the following. When you grow older, you will
understand. E-ma really wishes you could
love reading and always keep your curiosity with you. Remember my word and it is very important. E-ma hopes you could develop a reading habit
and be enjoyed it. You know, in this
day and age, many people do not read for pleasure. The internet and television have become most
people's main form of entertainment, and reading is becoming a thing of the past.
However, reading can greatly enhance and enrich your life experience. Baby,
now you are a three year old boy, try to spend some time to read any
books that you find interesting, or ask your mommy and daddy to read for you, I
can ensure you that it will be forever useful in your life. You E-ma was not used to read when she was
small but now once pick up reading, you will know how shallow we are and you
will notice there are so many interesting things to learn! Learn to ask “why” and not “how”.
By the way, do you know you did very well in your 2nd
year. Let me recall a little bit for
you and you will know how amazing you are!
On 10 February 2011, it was the first time that you said
“E-ma”. I am thrilled and I immediately
put the recording on the face book. All
the aunties and uncles said it is amazing and they share my joy! Silly me that I watched at your video
repeatedly and repeatedly. You wet my
eyes and you touch my heart. Then over
the past year, you start to learn fast and you start to recognize a lot of
words. You even start to draw and play
with the piano. Your favorite things
are “tortoise” and “cement maker “螺螺車” and you love them so much
that they are almost the first words you start to know and speak out. As you are still small, patience and
concentration are your biggest obstacles.
Don’t worry about it, sooner you will get through it.
You love going to Ocean
Park to see the jelly
fish and to take the “Small” cable car.
You also love the “Big” cable car (360). Taking the cable car and going to Ocean Park
have becoming your weekend activity that you are eager. Do you know your mommy and daddy love you so
much that almost every weekend, they bring you to take the cable car(s) and you
enjoy it very much. If you are happy,
your mommy and daddy will feel happy. Your mommy and daddy also wish to make use of
the outing to introduce you different things, such as trees, flowers, sun,
moon, skies, bus, taxi, fish….everything!
Do you know you learned a lot during those activities?
During your 2nd year, you also love to visit “公公”’s home at
Shaukeiwan and you even initiate it. You start to have your own independent
thinking which is a good sign though sometimes you also need to listen to mommy
and daddy, OK? You are such a sweetheart
to “公公” because whenever “公公” mentioned about
you, he would smile and said you are very good, behave well and his 口頭憚 is “佢真係好乖”! “公公”
and “婆婆” said you love eating and every time when they
bring you to the restaurant, they would order “鳳爪排骨飯” for you and you love
it! You must inherit the genes of your
mommy and daddy : )
As a two year old
boy, you start to attend the 主日學, I know it is a new
thing to you but sweetheart, you are doing very well. You start to sing the song of 主日學 and learn to pray. At your age,
it is really incredible! I know you are
blessed. Every time when I look at the photos that your mommy sent to me, such
as your school life in Victoria, your school picnic, sports day, in Chinese
costume, going to China with your peers and your daddy’s friends, at the
eateries etc…I would say “Boy!! It is
incredible and you grow up so fast!”
Little Aloysius, you
have a very fruitful 2nd year!
It’s fun to think back about when you were a
baby. We’re looking forward to seeing
what you would become in the future. I am wishing you the very best things in the
coming year and in life.
