ABC, 123, do re mi

QY...looking at you growing healthily is really our greatest satisfaction. Do you love listening story? Hope you find the story of "Patron of Agriculture" that I told you tonight is enjoyable. When you start learning, you need to learn things deep and well. You need to develop endurance and concentration. It is no good to learn things superficially. Most importantly, you also need to have a strong foundation of every fundamentals that you ought to learn. Remember e-ma told you that you need to first learn ABC, then from ABC, you start to form words and using different words, you can form sentence and when you combine different sentences together logically and systematically, then you can write something meaningful. Same to mathematics and singing. When you start learning mathematics, you learn 123 and when you wish to play music, you should know do re mi.

QY...we all love you!

The Twelfth of Never

I am touched by this beautiful song. Such beautiful that it really melts my heart.

You ask how much I need you, must I explain?
I need you, oh my darling, like roses need rain.
You ask how long I'll love you;
I'll tell you true: Until the twelfth of never, I'll still be loving you.

Hold me close, never let me go.
Hold me close, melt my heart like April snow.

I'll love you till the bluebells forget to bloom;
I'll love you till the clover has lost its perfume.
I'll love you till the poets run out of rhyme,
Until the twelfth of never and that's a long, long time.

Hold me close, never let me go.
Hold me close, melt my heart like April snow.

I'll love you till the bluebells forget to bloom;
I'll love you till the clover has lost its perfume.
I'll love you till the poets run out of rhyme,
Until the twelfth of never and that's a long, long time.
Until the twelfth of never and that's a long, long time.

Life is Short, don't waste time

It's been the fifth years that I have been runnning the annual SC marathon. Um....this year, is however perhaps the year that I feel I am the least prepared. One of the reason is that, for this year, I have spent more time in hiking during weekend, rather than running. Some friends told me that I should be doing fine in my marathon because long hike is also a good training for developing endurance...hope so : )

Our time is really limited and the same to everyone. Like myself, if I devote my time on hiking, I will not have time to running. Just the same that if we waste time, we lose it and will never get it back. No matter how rich you are...who you are..., we are all equal on one aspect, i.e. we only have 24 hours a day. So, it very much depends on how we utilize our time. LIFE IS SHORT, DON'T WASTE TIME.

Namaste

Namaste... Namaste... I've been saying this for many times while I was in Nepal. The Nepal trekking trip is an unforgettable one and to me...if I give it up and not go, I should not be forgiven. I am glad that DD endorsed my plan despite there are still some friends opined that I should not go during big festive holidays. Anyway, the Nepal trip makes me feel we are really lucky living in Hong Kong. Lucky is only in the sense that Hong Kong is really a richer place and people earn their living easier (on the other hand, I do envy their simple life with contentment).

Imagine a porter needs to carry at least 60 lbs everyday with the minimum hiking equipment and all the load are relied on the head strap. If they slip, they fall and they finish. Recently, I read a book about a fatal climb initiated by a German expedition team in 1934. Usually, people would only know the hero standing proudly on the summit with their country flag wavering...however, do you know how many hidden heros behind. I just noted from the book that if there were any accidents happened in the mountain, the rescue team would only save the climbers and they will leave the porters behind. Reason is that porters do no have insurance and the rescue team would also not allow and not willing to see any death of foreign hikers. It is really a sad thing to know. Human being is supposed to be equal but in the cruel world...it is NOT. During our trekking at Nepal, we also hired porters to carry all the stuff for us. Our porters are very nice and I chat with them IN THEIR LANGUAGE. Language is a very important means of communication. It can help to get people closer. That's the reason whenever I travel, I wish to learn their language.....ummm....but too bad that I am not clever enough to memorise so many languages : (

Thank you all my friends at Nepal. Thank you Mr Thakpa, Mr Karma, Mr Dawa and Mr Minor...Dhannapak (Thank you).

My New Year Tradition

It's has been many years that once in a year, I would take out the brush and ink to write a few chinese calligraphy in red paper for the family. Well...my calligraphy is "kindergarten" level and to a large extent, a lot of room for improvement, I still love writing it and make them part of the chinese new year decoration at home. Now it even becomes part of my home new year's tradition. DD loves them and perhaps he is the only person in the world would say he prefers mine than those he could find in the market. Wish everyone who see my blog...Gong Xi Fa Cai!! Happy New Year!

Family Dinner at the Ox Year Eve

It will be my first time that I won't stay in HK with my family during the Chinese New Year. I have been struggling a bit should I go to Nepal Hiking with my friends or should I stay in HK as usual for the Chinese New Year. Having discussed with DD and with his "endorsement", I decided I should not miss the chance. I believe not many chance in a life that I could find a group of friends that I can go along, and with similar interest. Well...since I will be leaving on the new year eve, we eat "tuen nin fan" tonight. Exactly 15 months ago, little QY came to this world. From a new born baby who only sleep, cry and milk ... now becomes an active beautiful little boy, QY's mother (my sister) and my dearest mom have spent a lot of time, love and patience with him. Little QY...still remember the 1st letter that e-ma wrote to you. E-ma wish you the happiest boy in the world.

May I take this opportunity to wish my dearest family members a joyous and happy CNY! I love you all!
